What Up? (Musically Speaking)
Hi there folks,
Since the previous one was started well over a year ago, I thought it was about time to re-start this topic, for posting about the music currently on our minds and in our disc players!
In my case, it may very well be something on my turntable! Yes, I still play record albums and even singles.
Vinyl is about 87% of my collection at this point in time!
Well, anyhow....No turntable today!
I'm about to listen to Deborah Harry's first solo CD in about 14 years. It's called NECESSARY EVIL and I just picked it up!
There ain't nuttin' like the sounds of music, IMO!
So howzabout YOU?!?!
Any Non-Cherie related ear candy to report on???
Here's the place to do it!

The aforementioned Deborah Harry CD is most excellent!
Kinda figgered it would be!
I posted a link to TWO TIMES BLUE, from it, on the YouTube Videos topic, if anyone would care to check it out!
I wonder if this means the Blondie Reunion deal is kaput?!?!
I sure hope not!

You know I don't listen to the normal stuff and these two selections kinda prove that.

This is a bluegrass tribute to Van Halen featuring David Lee Roth On Vocals. I have listened to it a couple times but I ain't made up my Mind yet...LOL
The other one I'm listening to is The Beatles - Hate. I think a couple of DJ's did the same basic thing that george Martin did to the Love Cd (only he did it better)

Concerning Dave Lee Roth - I watched him do a version of Jump, bluegrass style, on youtube and thought he'd turned into Frasier Crane.

I've heard a few reviews on Roth's latest and none of them were good.
Still I'm curious about that!
Also curious about the Zappa does Zappa deal!
Just heard Dolores' ORDINARY DAY on YouTube and it sounds like The Cranberries to me. Loved it!
I'll see if I can find those other things next!
Rock on dudes!

Well I saw Zappa plays Zappa the other night.
I was blown away, Dweezil has done his dad's music some fine justice!

Thanks for the link Charlie! I went ahead and check some Zappa On Zappa on YouTube though because watching them on that web site required modification of my active x controls and I am trying not change any settings. Leaving well enough alone, so to speak!
I really liked what I saw and heard. Dweezil is a very good guitarist and honors his father's memory with what he is doing!
Kudos to those latter-day Mothers too!
As far as David Lee Roth's Bluegrass tunes go.
I would have to give it two thumbs down Rog!
It seems more like a big joke than any sort of serious musical collaboration.
I'll let that ship sail without me!
I'm doing my homework on The Cranberries now. I let myself fall way behind.
Dolores has had some interesting collaborations in recent years and I am finding a lot of them on YouTube!
Rock on my friends!

Did anyone watch the American Music Awards the other night?
I tried but, jeez louise, I could not relate at all!
What has happened to music, in this country?
Maybe the People's Choice Awards will be better!
